Residential Electronics Recycling Program
BCSWMD charges $20 for all TVs and computer monitors brought to the Recycling Center and Landfill. Due to space limitations at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center, projection televisions should go to the landfill for recycling. BCSWMD reserves the right to refuse any items for recycling that are disruptive to our recycling efforts. Most items with a cord or computer related electronics are accepted at the Bartholomew County Landfill or the Recycling Center. Electronics/corded items primarily composed of glass, ceramic or wood; or items that have been cannibalized will not be accepted. The following is a partial list of accepted items:

Computers
computer CPUs, laptop computers, netbooks/tablets, printers, scanners, accessories: mice, keyboards, cables, cords

Office Equipment
fax machines, copiers, desk phones, cell phones, surge protectors, backup power supplies, modems, shredders, battery chargers, calculators, electronic typewriters

Household Appliances
microwave ovens, toaster ovens, toasters, electric skillets, coffee/tea makers, blenders, mixers, food sealers, food dehydrators, food processors, bread makers, vacuum sweepers, electric space heaters, curling irons, flat irons, hair dryers, TVs, radios, alarm clocks, stereos, sound systems, turntables, CD players, DVD players, VCRs, receivers, gaming systems, projectors, irons, corded leaf blowers, corded hedge trimmers, corded power tools

Other Appliances
treadmills, fans
