Effective July 1, 2017 there will be a $20 fee for all TV's and Computer Monitors brought to the Recycling Center and Landfill.
Residential Electronics Recycling Program
BCSWMD will accept nearly any small appliance or electronic device with a cord at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center or Bartholomew County Landfill during normal operation hours. The following items are excluded from the accepted items; Console or projection televisions (can still be disposed in the landfill), non-intact appliances/TVs (ex. cannibalized), items primarily made of glass or ceramics, and CFC- containing appliances (Landfill still accepts for a fee). The District reserves the rights to refuse any items for recycling that are disruptive to our recycling efforts (i.e. non-residential quantities of materials, items containing radioactive materials or liquids, etc). The following is a partial list of accepted items;
