Refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, dehumidifiers can be recycled at the Bartholomew County Landfill. $20 per item fee applies.
Check the number in the recycling triangle, usually on the bottom of the container. #1 and #2 plastics are accepted at all BCSWMD facilities. Must be empty, clean, and dry. Sort by number when visiting the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. Plastics marked #3-#7 are not accepted.
Accepted via the Tox-Away Program at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center Monday - Friday 7:30-4:30. Limit 5 gallons per visit.
Call the Bartholomew County Landfill 812.342.2756 to inquire about clean fill. For contaminated soil, call Bartholomew County Solid Waste Management District 812.376.2614.
Dishes in good condition may be donated to local charities or the Bartholomew County Landfill Reuse Center. Dishes are not recyclable. Dispose of in the garbage.

Doors in good, reusable condition may be donated to the Bartholomew County Landfill Reuse Center or Habitat for Humanity Restore. Doors in bad condition can be disposed of at the Bartholomew County Landfill.

Not accepted at BCSWMD facilities for recycling. Dispose of cassette tapes and boxes in the garbage.
