B List

BAKEWARE (cookie trays, baking pans, Pyrex)
If still in good condition, bakeware may be donated to local charities or the Bartholomew County Landfill Reuse Center. Metal bakeware in poor condition is accepted for scrap at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center or Bartholomew County Landfill. Glass bakeware is not recyclable.

BALLAST (from fluorescent lights)
Accepted in the scrap metal bin at Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center or Bartholomew County Landfill during regular hours.

BATTERIES
Alkaline Batteries are not hazardous, and may be disposed of in the garbage.

This is an item for heavy trash pickup or a metal recycler. Donate bikes in good condition for reuse.

BOOKS
Hardcover and Paperback can be recycled at the Columbus Bartholomew Recycling Center. Separate by type. Books can also be donated to the Little Red School House for reuse by Bartholomew County educators.

BOX SPRINGS
This is an item for heavy trash pickup. Contact your trash hauler for more information. Box springs are not accepted for recycling or reuse and must be disposed of in the Bartholomew County Landfill.

BRICKS
Bricks are considered a bulky waste item and go in the landfill. Alternatively, call the Bartholomew County Landfill to inquire about use as clean fill. Bricks in good condition can be donated to the Bartholomew County Landfill Reuse Center.

BUBBLE WRAP
Bubble wrap can be recycled at retail stores along with plastic shopping bags and deflated air pillow packaging. UPS stores also accept bubble wrap for recycling.
