SHREDDED PAPER
Shredded paper is accepted at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center during regular hours. It must be separated from other paper types in a clear, plastic bag.

SOLVENTS
If the solvent can be cleaned with water, let it dry out and dispose of in the garbage. If mineral spirits are necessary for cleanup, it is considered a Household Hazardous Waste and is accepted in the Tox-Away Program at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center Monday - Friday 7:30-4:30. 5 gallon limit per visit.
SPORTING GOODS Not recyclable. Donate for reuse if in good condition or dispose of in garbage.
STAINS See PAINT
STEEL CANSSTYROFOAM (polystyrene)
Not accepted at BCSWMD facilities for recycling.
Plastic Recycling, Inc., 7601 Rockville Road, Indianapolis, has drop off containers for molded Styrofoam blocks, clean food service containers, and coolers. Items must be marked #6. No packing peanuts, lids, or straws.
SYRINGES/NEEDLES
Hypodermic needles should not be placed in the trash or recycling! Syringes and needles are accepted for safe disposal at the Bartholomew County Health Department Public Nursing Division, 2675 Foxpointe Drive, Suite B. Call 812-379-1555 for more information.
