WATER BOTTLES
Check the number in the recycling triangle, usually on the bottom of the container. #1 and #2 plastics are accepted at all BCSWMD facilities. Must be empty, clean, dry, and loose. Do not put plastic bags in the recycling bins! Caps can be left on. Sort by number when visiting the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. Plastics marked with #3-#7 are not accepted.

Heavy trash item or dispose of at Bartholomew County Landfill.
WATER HEATERS See APPLIANCES
WHITE PAPER/OFFICE PAPER
Accepted at all BCSWMD facilities. Sort from other paper types when using the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. Paper should be clean and dry.
Most wrappers for white paper are not accepted for paper recycling due to the plastic moisture barrier that coats the wrapper. Plastic wrappers for white paper are not accepted in plastics recycling.
WINDOW FRAMES (with or without glass)
Frames in good condition can be donated to the Bartholomew County Reuse Center or Habitat for Humanity Restore. Check with your trash hauler about heavy trash pick-up. Can be disposed at the Bartholomew County Landfill.
WINDOW GLASS (out of frames)
Not recyclable with glass bottles and jars. Dispose of in garbage. Carefully package broken glass to avoid injury to sanitation workers.
