MAGAZINES/CATALOGS
Recyclable at all BCSWMD facilities. Sort from other paper types when using the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. To reduce what you receive, go to ►www.directmail.com or ►www.catalogchoice.org

MARGARINE/BUTTER TUBS
Check the number in the recycling triangle, usually on the bottom of the container. #1 and #2 plastics are accepted at all BCSWMD facilities. Must be empty, clean, and dry. Sort by number when visiting the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. Plastics marked with #3-#7 are not accepted.

MATTRESSES/BOX SPRINGS
Dispose of at the Bartholomew County Landfill during regular hours.

Mercury Thermostats
Accepted via the Tox-Away Program at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

METAL
Scrap metal is accepted at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center and Bartholomew County Landfill. Larger items should go to the landfill. BCSWMD does not pay for scrap metal.

MICROWAVE OVENS
Microwave ovens are accepted as scrap metal at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center or Bartholomew County Landfill during regular hours.

MILK CARTONS
Waxed paper milk cartons are not accepted at BCSWMD facilities for recycling.

MILK JUGS
Check the number in the recycling triangle, usually on the bottom of the container. #1 and #2 plastics are accepted at all BCSWMD facilities. Must be empty, clean, dry, and loose. Do not put plastic bags in the recycling bins! Caps can be left on. Sort by number when visiting the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center. Plastics marked with #3-#7 are not accepted.

MIRRORS Not recyclable. Dispose of in the garbage.

MONITORS
Computer monitors are accepted for recycling at the Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center and Bartholomew County Landfill. There is a $20 per item fee. Baby monitors can be recycled in the Electronics Recycling Program for free.
